Dr Lucy Gibberd is a Taranaki GP who has been a partner in her practice for 20 years. She joined MPS as a Medicolegal Consultant in 2015, having previously worked for the RNZCGP as a Medical Educator. She attended Cambridge University in the UK, where she studied both law and medicine, and then finished her medical training at the University of Bristol. She has been in New Zealand since 1991.
Lucy holds diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Child Health and Dermatology and was awarded a Masters in Healthcare Law and Ethics in 2019.
In January 2025, Lucy gave up her GP practice and is now working full-time for Medical Protection Services (MPS).
